About God’s Love Ministries

God's Love Ministries was founded in 1978 by Bill Jeynes initially as a ministry to people on the streets and as a preaching ministry. Bill opened up his home as a half-way house in Anaheim, California from 1979-1982 and saw many people helped, healed, and delivered. Beginning in 1982 God's Love Ministries became primarily a missionary/evangelistic ministry that led Bill to preach and minister in 47 states and in about 20 countries around the world. The Lord took this preaching ministry to, among other places, Yoido Full Gospel Church in Seoul, South Korea, the largest church in the world (current membership about 1 million). When Bill first spoke at this church in June of 1985, he met his wonderful wife, Hyelee. They became married at Yoido Full Gospel Church 1 year and one day after they met (June, 1986). God's Love Ministries also became incorporated the same year that they met (1985). Over the course of the years, BY GOD'S GRACE ALONE, about 100,000 people have come to Christ, about 200,000 have been healed, and over a million have rededicated their lives to Christ. This has nothing to do with God's servants, but has EVERYTHING to do with God's grace and His willingness to touch people.

From 1982-1997 God's Love Ministries was primarily a missionary/evangelistic ministry and missionary/evangelism remains a primary focus of the ministry today. By the Lord's hand of mercy, Bill has ministered in every inhabited continent in the world. The Lord has laid it on Bill's heart to preach a balanced gospel and deliver exegetical messages that will glorify God. Bill does not believe in presenting a fluffy entertainment gospel, but believes that the Bible is inspired by God and therefore he must be faithful to present the Word of God as it is written. Since the inception of God's Love Ministries in 1978, Bill has been a strong believer that he will pray with people at the altar for as long as is necessary. Therefore, Bill often prays 1-4 hours for people at the altar. Bill's and his wife, Hyelee, are also actively engaged in counseling ministry, with a special emphasis on family counseling. Hyelee has a real gift in counseling, as well as in evangelism. She has been used of God to bring many to Christ. In addition, Bill & Hyelee's children, Isaiah, Elisha, and Luke are engaged in ministry as well. They pray with people at the altar and evangelize. Elisha and Isaiah sometimes preach and lead Bible studies. Elisha also leads worship.

When God's Love Ministries first became a non-profit organization in 1985, Bill was aided by a board of elders that helped establish God's Love Ministries. These individuals included Richard Kim, Jon Yoshihara, Morris Ha, and Ernie Esquibel. These leaders have changed somewhat over these many years. However, most of these leaders still serve and Chris Ullman is the Executive Vice President of God's Love Ministries. Chris is a Professor at Christian Life College in Mount Prospect, Illinois and also engages in some degree of pulpit ministry.

As Bill contemplated going into ministry within secular academia, Bill know that although he had both a Ph.D. and D.Min. from seminary, he would have to go back to secular graduate school.

Bill knew that in order for people to be open to the gospel message in academia, he would have to go the the best universities. So he prayed that God would open up the door to go to Harvard University. Although God had blessed Bill with 10 consecutive semesters of 4.0 GPAs, Bill knew he would have to do well on the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), the graduate school version of the SAT, in order to be admitted to Harvard. Bill & Hyelee also prayed that God would get Bill through graduate school debt free, for the sake of his family and supporting his children through their college education. By God's grace, the Lord enabled Bill to get a perfect score on the GRE (800-800-800) and Bill was admitted to Harvard University. Upon their return from the mission field in Japan, Bill was not in good physical condition, but God still enabled Bill to graduate first in his class from Harvard. After getting a Master's Degree from Harvard, the University of Chicago offered Bill a full scholarship to get a Ph.D. and this enabled Bill to complete graduate school debt free. The University of Chicago is an Ivy League LEVEL university and those who are affiliated with the University of Chicago have won more Nobel Prizes than any other university {79} (Harvard is second and only two NATIONS have won more Nobels than the University of Chicago, the United States & the United Kingdom). So Bill knew it would be demanding. But by God's grace, Bill was awarded the Rosenberger Award for most outstanding student in his cohort and was the first in his cohort to graduate. This was all about God's grace.

In 1997 Bill then started in a two-pronged ministry, continuing missionary/evangelism, but also in academia. In 1997 a huge economic crisis struck Asia. It actually started in South Korea, where its GDP sank 7.4% in just one year. Through various connections that Bill and Hyelee had in South Korea, Bill was able to introduce to the Head of the Korean Parliament a 4 point economic stimulus package designed to bring South Korea out of its economic mess. Bill shared with the Head and Parliament that the current bill being considered before Parliament would not work, but that he truly believed that God had given him this plan to revive the South Korean economy. The Head of Parliament recorded the word God had given Bill (which lasted about 20 minutes). Fortunately, the Head of Parliament had lived in the U.S. many years and was very fluent in English (and Hyelee was there to translate, if needed). After hearing the message, the Head of Parliament declared, "Yes, this is from God" and immediately he called down to the Parliament to cancel the existing bill. Then the 4 point plan easily passed Parliament. It included such items as a new high tech city to be built (now called Songdo), a MUCH higher percentage of the economic development money to go to other areas of Korea outside of Seoul (previously the focus had been overwhelming on Seoul), encouraging large amounts of foreign investment (before South Korea had wanted to recover on its own), and a public rebuke of those corrupt business and government officials who caused the crisis, etc. By God's grace, after passage of the bill the South Korean economy soared and recovered the fastest of all the Asian economies affected, growing about 10.5% each of the next two years (i.e., a more than 21% increase in just 2 years).
